Guided Tours
Visiting the meadows
There are several ways you can visit the Harnham Water Meadows. We hold Open Days and organise private tours, conduct educational visits for all academic levels, and hold Art Days where you can come to the meadows to paint and draw.
The meadows are open for pre-arranged guided tours for small groups, societies or any organisation. The tour begins with a visit to Rose Cottage, and a presentation on the history of the meadows. Visitors are then guided round the meadows, with an explanation of the historic and modern features, and the Sites of Special Scientific Interest. This part of the tour can last up to an hour and a half depending on the interests of the visitors.
We will suggest a specific donation for all private visits to help us continue our critical work. Please get in touch with us if you want to discuss a licence or private access.
We ask that groups donate £10 per adult (19 years old or above), with a minimum donation of £40.
This money goes directly to the Trust, to maintain and preserve the meadows for future generations.
