2. Objectives

2.1 This document arises from a Case Conference regarding the future management of the meadows held 14th June 2006 at the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum and from subsequent consultation and discussion. The original meeting was chaired by Alex Inman formally of the Westcountry Rivers Trust, now Tamar Consulting and Plymouth University with wide participation from a range of agencies and informed individuals. ANNEX I shows those who attended, and a summary of the program. This document is primarily concerned with developing a framework policy for management and conservation. In doing so it will have regard for the Harnham Water Meadows as an educational and community resource but it is not intended to be the Trust’s policy document for education and outreach.
